Last night I was dancing and clapping along to some of the greatest disco hits at Charing Cross Theatre! It was the Gala Night of the KC and the Sunshine Band musical and what a night it was!
Harry Casey was actually there and introduced the show along with Director Lisa Stevens and this set up the atmosphere perfectly.
The show is basically the story of how Harry Casey got started and how the support of his friends was crucial in his success. Quite a few people in the audience had also dressed up so there was plenty of glitter and an outrageous number of sequins on display!
The small cast, lead brilliantly by Ross Harmon playing Harry himself, were excellent with great voices and dancing on display throughout the show, The audience just couldn’t help singing along to some of the great disco songs like Boogie Shoes and Shake Your Booty!
It really was a fantastic evening that felt like a party from the moment we all walked through the door!
The show runs at Charing Cross Theatre until November 15th so if you have ever been a disco diva you will want to get down to Charing Cross for a good old fashioned boogie!
